Under the patronage of The Crown Prince of Fujairah, His Highness Sheikh Mohammad Bin Hamad Al Sharqi, who has been highly influenced by Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) teachings and perspectives. Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) affected the lives of millions of people, who then decided to take the kind and humane initiative to spread this knowledge and peace to their fellow brothers and sisters of the world.
This year, the Emirate of Fujairah is hosting a major festival called “Al Badr” from October 6th till October 9th. It celebrates “Mawlid”, the birth of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) with the performance of religious songs narrating the story of his birth and journey. This festival shares love & spiritual values in honour of the personality of the Prophet (PBUH) through elements of art and culture.
The idea is to bring together the community to educate and celebrate the true values of the impact that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) has implanted during his quest. Mawlid is a known art form practiced in the Islamic world. Al Badr Festival preserves the traditional Emirati art form by introducing Islamic heritage, values focused on tolerance, and equality elegantly celebrated in creativity. Artworks inspired by the praise of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) demonstrate morality and discover & encourage youth to emerge in talents of painting, poetry, calligraphy & multimedia.
The festival will be held at the Fujairah Creative Center, also known as the Ministry of Culture & Youth Centre in Fujairah. The Mawlid’s rich program is distributed throughout four days of inspiring activities, ranging from the opening of an art exhibition to a conclusive theatre production titled “For the Love of the Prophet PBUH”. Fujairah’s Al Badr Festival has been highly anticipated by the community, fellow partners, and the organisers.
