Mohamed Jasem expresses his art through the medium of nails and hammer and creates his pieces with an eco-conscious spirit.
Jasem is an Emirati artist combining a multitude of different art forms, and although his works are primarily on canvas he sees his work as both jewellery and painting. Inspired by the topography of the different Emirates, he also responds to current world issues by using waste materials such as plastic in his works.
His collections have been celebrated around the UAE and by very well known UAE figures, and his pieces are said to ‘Capture the Spirit of Winter Art’. Also well known for his volunteering, he always attempts to carry out his art in person, rather than from photos. He relishes the transformation of the face to an image and the image to a face.
His first participation was in Bayt Al-Fan in Fujairah in 2017. He went on to explain that his methods are in constant evolution and that he follows his own works as an adventure into the unknown. An ongoing pursuit fo new creative styles, and he remain unshackled to a particular medium within art.
