Amnah Jasem is an Emirati artist from Fujairah city. Was born in 1985. She has had this talent and interest in art since childhood. Amnah is a self-taught artist who uses different art mediums such as; pencil, pastel, acrylic, glass paint, and raisin.
In her paintings she focuses on; landscape, portrait, architecture, abstract art, hyperrealism art, and jewelry designing.
Amnah has participated in different art exhibitions around the UAE (the latest was Platform 09 in February 2020. Besides, she participated in art galleries in Netherlands (2011) and Italy (2018). Moreover, she took the 1st place in the Jewelry Designing Competition (Ebdaa) for both years 2013 and 2016.

Your paintings cover landscapes and portraits to hyperrealism and architecture. Which do you find the most challenging?
The most challenging paintings are the ones with details. Also mixing colors and creating the right shade is challenging to.
Your work across many different mediums, which do you find comes more naturally and which do you enjoy the most?
I find joy in each of them considering the different techniques used. Anyway, I always find resin very interesting as I go crazy and wild in mixing and creating each piece.
How did it feel to win the jewellery design prize and how has it affected your practice, if at all?
I never thought I will win, but when it happened, I was very proud, my family too. It affected me and pushed me to create more designs and enhance my skills in jewelry designing.
As a self-taught artist, is there someone in your family who inspired you to unlock your creativity?
My parents were my supporters since childhood and nowadays my daughter is my inspiration. She loves painting too.
Many creatives said they struggled with lack of inspiration during lockdown, did you find it hard to tap into your creativity during this period?
Honestly, I was very active during the lockdown. I was able to create around 33 art pieces (since March 2020 when COVID 19 started) I am more creative when I am under stress. I was teaching during that time too (online teaching)
There are many talented artists rising from the UAE and Fujairah specifically, who are you a fan of?
I am a big fan of my brother’s work “Mohamed”. I admire his artwork and try to learn from him.
Can you tell us about some of your favourite UAE exhibitions to date?
Platform 09 (Fujairah), Sikka (Dubai), Louver (AbuDhabi), Sharjah Biennale.
Which piece of artwork from the last 18 months are you most proud of?
I am very proud of the Platform 09 Art Collection – For t he Vision Experience. Also, the Golden Art Collection – They are very special as they were very unique to me.
What’s the best piece of creative advice you have been given?
Paint to enjoy, paint to express yourself and your feeling. Never paint to please others. That way you will enjoy art more.
What are your goals for the future?
For my art to be well recognized, to be known and to become an international artist.
